Overview
The then District Magistrate of Bijnor, LC Jain, inaugurated an intermediate college in Dhampur tehsil in August 1946 for education of girls and women. In 1954 the first batch of this college took intermediate examinations. The journey continued, and as a result in 1958 the college came into its present state.
On August 1969 another red letter day came for this city in the field of women education when this college became a degree college and got affiliated to Agra University with the name of Saubhagyavati Bai Dani Mahila Mahavidyalaya. The college received exceptional support from Dhannarayana Ramanarayana Dani Ji in getting the status of a degree college. Durga Prasad Khosla was the inspiration behind Dani Ji in doing so. Because of exceptional assistance of Dani Ji this college was named after her mother Saubhagyavati Bai Dani.
At present the college is running postgraduate classes in Hindi, English, Home Science, Sociology, Economics, Geography, Zoology and Mathematics, Along with this, the students also have the facility of conducting research work in guidance of expert teachers.
The college at the undergraduate level is running classes in Hindi, English, Education, Home Science, Sociology, Music, Drawing and Painting, Sanskrit, Economics, Political Science, Geography, History, Physical Education, Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Zoology, Commerce and Teachers’ Education. This was a matter of pride for the college.
